Waste to Energy

Waste to energy is the conversion of waste products to energy. This includes incineration of waste as well as the conversion of waste through chemical processes to a combustible fuel. Thermal technologies include: gasification, thermal de-polymerization, pyrolysis, plasma gasification and plasma arc gasification. Non-thermal technologies include: anaerobic digestion, fermentation, and mechanical biological treatment.

The global waste to energy market was valued at $18.4 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach $31.8 billion by 2019.
